THERAPEUTIC GROUP HOMES
NDUTIME operates “Joshua House I & II” as independent
living group homes for adolescent males between the ages of 13-19.
Our purpose is to address issues and/or problems of adolescents who
are dealing with some form of mental health distress, which has
resulted in an out-of-home placement.
Our GOAL for Therapeutic Group Home Services:
Youth will be transformed from the uncertainty of their adolescent
years (caterpillars) to responsible and community conscious adults
(butterfly).
Our Plan:
To offer an array of services dedicated to the reduction of
maladaptive behaviors exhibited in the lives of the adolescents we
serve with an emphasis in the areas of forgiveness and
servant-leadership.

Disturbed/ Neglected/Sexual Offender Specific Issues/Abused

Staff to
Resident Ratio: 1:4 during wake hours and 1:6 during sleep
hours/overnight.
Admission Criteria:
The admissions criteria for the referred individual are as follows:
-
Adolescent males
between the ages of 13 – 19 prior to date of admission;
-
Mental Health Axis
I Diagnosis (DSM IV) - classified as emotionally and/or
behaviorally disturbed;
-
Is in need of a
supportive structured living environment due to an inability to
function adequately in a less restricted environment;
-
Is in need of
greater independent living skills and transitional assistance
for community reintegration; and
-
Facility/community
resources can meet educational needs.

INTENSIVE IN-HOME
SERVICES
Our GOAL for
Intensive In-Home Counseling:
To provide services that are oriented toward recovery, resilience,
and hope, while utilizing forgiveness as a vehicle that leads to
positive change within families.
OUR PLAN:
-
Provide highly
qualified mental health professionals with extensive knowledge
and experience in working with “at-risk” youth and families;
-
Provide MH
Counselors within the home environment to assist in decreasing
out-of-placements; and
-
Partner with each
child’s home, school, and community resources to ensure
individuals and families receive all necessary services (i.e.,
medical, dental, educational, and mental health);
Admission Criteria:
The admissions criteria for the referred individual are as follows:
-
Must be a child or
adolescent age three (3) and above at the time of the referral;
and
-
Is at-risk for
out-of-home placement due to abuse, neglect, emotional
difficulties, and/or behavioral difficulties (i.e., defiant
behavior, criminal behavior, runaway, etc.); or
-
Returning from a
residential, group home, foster care, or correctional placement
and needs support to successfully transition back home; and/or
-
Have difficulty in
establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships
to such a degree that they are at risk of hospitalization,
homelessness, or isolation from social supports; and/or
-
Exhibit such
inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions by the mental
health, social services, or judicial system are necessary;
and/or
-
Exhibiting
difficulty in cognitive ability such that they are unable to
recognize personal danger or recognize significantly
inappropriate social behavior; and
-
Referred and/or at
least one (1) adult guardian is willing and able to participate
in services; and
-
Funding for
NDUTIME services are available through Medicaid, Medicaid
Waiver, private insurance, Department of Juvenile Justice, grant
funds, scholarships, private donors, self-pay, and/or Family
Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT) funding approval process

THERAPEUTIC DAY TREATMENT
OUR GOAL for Day
Treatment:
To reduce negative behaviors that impede learning to ensure child is
prepared to meet SOL Benchmarks and AYP.
OUR PROMISE:
NDUTIME Youth & Family Services, Inc. vows to provide qualified
staff to partner with the community and school system (i.e., free
staff training, active member of PTA, involvement in school and
community functions) in ensuring children receive early intervention
and prevention services. Our Behavioral Specialists and Site
Coordinators will serve as liaisons between the school and families
within our program to assist in providing comprehensive services.
OUR PLAN:
-
Partner with each
child’s school, home, and community resources to ensure
individuals and families receive all necessary services (i.e.,
medical, dental, educational, and mental health);
-
Decrease the
number of children misdiagnosed for school-based services when
mental health services are warranted; and
-
Provide Behavioral
Specialists within the school setting to assist in decreasing
out-of-school suspensions, classroom removals, and truancy.
Admission Criteria:
The admissions criteria for the referred individual are as follows:
-
Must be a child,
adolescent, or adult ages three (3) and above at the time of the
referral; and
-
Is at-risk for
being removed from the classroom or school for behavioral,
social, and/or emotional issues; or
-
Have difficulty in
establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships
to such a degree that they are at risk of hospitalization,
homelessness, or isolation from social supports; and/or
-
Exhibit such
inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions by the mental
health, social services, or judicial system are necessary;
and/or
-
Exhibit difficulty
in cognitive ability such that they are unable to recognize
personal danger or recognize significantly inappropriate social
behavior; and/or
-
Funding for
NDUTIME services are available through Medicaid, Medicaid
Waiver, Department of Juvenile Justice, grant funds,
scholarships, private donors, self-pay, and/or
-
Family Assessment
and Planning Team (FAPT) funding approval process.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
OUR GOAL for Mental
Health Support:
To provide training and support to enable clients with significant
functional limitations to achieve and maintain community stability
and independence in the least restrictive environment.
OUR PLAN:
Admission Criteria:
The admissions criteria for the referred individual are as follows:

Must be an
adolescent or adult ages sixteen (16) and above at the time of
the referral; and
-
Have difficulty in
establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships
to such a degree that they are at risk of hospitalization,
homelessness, or isolation from social supports; and/or
-
Exhibit such
inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions by the mental
health, social services, or judicial system are necessary;
and/or
-
Exhibiting
difficulty in cognitive ability such that they are unable to
recognize personal danger or recognize significantly
inappropriate social behavior; and/or
-
Require help in
basic living skills, such as maintain personal hygiene,
preparing food and maintaining adequate nutrition, or managing
finances to such a degree that health or safety is jeopardized;
and
-
Funding for
NDUTIME services are
available through Medicaid, Medicaid Waiver, private insurance,
Department of Juvenile Justice, grant funds, scholarships,
private donors, self-pay, and/or Family Assessment and
Planning Team (FAPT) funding approval process.

THERAPEUTIC CONSULTATION
OUR GOAL for
Therapeutic Consultation: To provide expertise, training, and
technical assistance to assist family members, caregivers, and other
service providers in supporting the client.
Our Plan:

Equip clients ages
two (2) and above and their family members, caregivers, and
other service providers with the necessary training and skills
in order for them to provide the best level of care to the
client.
